10. FlatOut: Head On
It is a handheld remake of FlatOut 2, released exclusively for the PSP in 2008. It features the same chaotic racing and destruction gameplay, but with a twist—the soundtrack was pulled from FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage, giving it a fresh audio vibe. And yes, it includes the legendary ragdoll minigames, like launching your driver through the windshield in bowling, darts, and even flaming rings. Basically, it’s part racing, part demolition derby, and part human projectile simulator.

9. Colin McRae Rally 2005 Plus
Colin McRae Rally 2005 Plus was a PSP-exclusive enhanced port of the original Colin McRae Rally 2005, released only in Europe and Australia. It featured over 30 rally cars, 70+ stages, and multiple game modes including Career, Championship, and Time Trial. While it didn’t introduce entirely new cars or challenges compared to the console version, it did offer tweaked content and optimized controls for handheld play. Notably, it included a “Hard Steer” function, suggested by Colin McRae himself, to allow sharper turns using a dedicated button.
Also worth noting: the game had a quirky bug where using the analog stick for steering could slow you down—so rally pros had to switch to the D-pad to stay competitive. Talk about a hidden difficulty setting!

8. Sega Rally Revo
Sega Rally Revo on PSP may not have had the full terrain deformation tech of its console siblings, but it did include visually reactive surfaces—like dust clouds, snow trails, and mud splashes—that gave the illusion of dynamic terrain changes2. While not technically deformable in the physics sense, the game’s arcade-style handling and environmental feedback made it feel alive and responsive, especially for a handheld racer.

7. MotorStorm: Arctic Edge
Motor Storm: Arctic Edge is developed by Bigbig Studios and released exclusively for PSP and PS2—making it the only entry in the series not available on PS3. It introduced two new vehicle classes: the Snowmachine (a snowmobile-style racer) and the Snowcat, which is basically a snowplow with attitude. These frosty additions joined six returning vehicle types, letting players tear through icy tracks, dodge avalanches, and smash through frozen bridges like it was a winter demolition derby.
